Anyone is free to become a contributor on the Historical Atlas. And you help would be greatly appriciated by our community.

This means that people of all ages and cultural and social backgrounds can write articles but must be related to history and match the appropriate standard. Irrelevant or substandard or disputed information is subject to removal.

How to become a contributor

Becoming a contributor on the Historical Atlas is very easy. You just need to register to create an account. Then you can start editing existing articles. You will however not be able to create new articles yet. This is just to avoid that some people would take advantage the system. If you'd like take this responsibility upon you, you can contact a system administrator using the contact form and submit your application.

How to create articles and maps

I still need to write some more information about creating articles and maps but I will do that as soon as possible.

How to report bugs

The system is still being fine tuned at the moment. This means that there can still be problems that are not related to the data. Most of them have already been identified but you can submit a description how your problem occurred on the contact form.

Data related bugs like overlapping countries or misplaced cities can be fixed by editing the data and should not be reported.
